Lokal Plate is a free public directory. We list restaurants, farms, farmers markets, and lodging across the United States that appear to prioritize local ingredients. By using the site you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.
Listings are not a guarantee
Listings are compiled from public sources and research (including help from AI tools) and can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. Hours, menus, sourcing, prices, and dog-friendly notes change. Inclusion is not an endorsement, a certification, or a partnership. We are not affiliated with the places listed unless we say so.
Use the directory as a starting point. Confirm details with the business before you go. Lokal Plate is not responsible for meals, reservations, travel, or other decisions you make from information on the site.
If you operate a listed place and want a correction or to be removed, email lokalplate.admin@gmail.com. We review those requests promptly.
Accounts
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- Use a real email you control. Keep your password to yourself.
- You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us if you think someone else is using it.
- We may suspend or delete accounts that spam, impersonate others, or abuse the directory.
Reviews, suggestions, and claims
If you post a review, suggestion, flag, or ownership claim, you grant Lokal Plate a non-exclusive license to display and moderate that content as part of the directory. You promise it is truthful to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to send it.
- No fake reviews, paid shill posts, or review bombing.
- No harassment, hate, threats, or illegal content.
- No scraping, bulk exporting, or automated harvesting of the map.
- Claiming a business: only if you are authorized to represent it. We may ask for proof before changing a listing.
We may edit, hide, or remove user content that breaks these rules or looks like spam. Hidden reviews are not a judgment of the business.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break into the site, overload it, probe other users’ accounts, or use the directory to send unsolicited marketing. Do not copy the database for a competing product. A reasonable number of listings cited with credit is fine; wholesale republication is not.
Our content
The Lokal Plate name, map design, and original write-ups are ours. Business names, logos, and photos remain with their owners. You may link to the site. You may not present our pages as your own product.
No warranty
The site is provided “as is.” We do not warrant that listings are accurate, that the map will always be available, or that it will meet a particular purpose. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Lokal Plate and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, arising from use of the site. If a court finds us liable anyway, that liability is limited to $50.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page is the latest version. If you keep using the site after an update, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using the site and email us to close your account.
